The main problem with Toyota motors is the global production and its supply chain management. It has come up with a strategy of opening manufacturing factories in every market it has served before ( Sabio, 2013).Its plants produce enough vehicles which sufficiently supplys the demand of global markets as well as the demand of the local market. Each market should be allocated to the plant during the planning stage. This allocation is adjusted when there is need and reviewed once or twice in a year. Toyota Motors has been using a lean supply chain to produce just what, how much, when and where it is needed. In addition, the management of Toyota has initiated the Toyota Production system aimed at improving quality and production to ensure vehicles ordered by clients are made quickly and efficiently, in order to supply vehicles in time (Sabio, 2013).Therefore, Toyota Motors should design their parts plants and be flexible to supply to all markets when the demand in the local markets is low.Just like in 1973; oil crisis, whenever there is economy problems or inflation and deflation, Toyota plants can redesign their global operations to own a section of the market by promoting low cost operations.
